Paranormal Education

While I’ve seen many long-established paranormal investigation groups offering education courses in the paranormal to get some sort of certificate stating you are an “official” professional investigator, this is the first time I’ve seen an established educational institute offer any classes. Ivy Tech Community College in Kokomo, IN is now offering an advanced paranormal investigations course through its Department of Workforce and Economic Development. I would’ve thought such a course would be offered through a psychology and/or other science department but apparently not. It would be interesting to know how many actually sign up for this kind of course.

Since the article I read stated that the course is advanced, I became curious to know what was involved in the introductory and possibly intermediate courses, but a visit to ITCC’s official website offered no information. Conducting a search on the site only showed that they have a Paranormal Society, which makes me wonder if this class is officially part of what the college offers, or just a “fluff” course.

If anyone reads this and knows more about this advanced course, please leave a comment.

  1. I’m for sure going to look up about it…it sounds like it might be some kind of course that goes along with being in the paranormal society. I agree…what courses would introductory be? Maybe we could draft a letter to this place and ask…see what kind of response we get.
