As one of four writers who contribute to this blog, I feel compelled to warn readers that I probably won’t be posting very much if at all this month because I’ve decided to participate in NaNoWriMo this year. I do have some excellent stories that I’ve put on the back-burner for later and I’m sure our other authors are brewing up a good mix of stories… so keep checking in!
What is NaNoWriMo?
National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing that goes from the beginning of November 1st through the end of November 30th. The goal is to write a 50,000 word (~175 page) “novel”. (A 50k word book would actually be a novella, but the group stops at 50k words because it’s manageable for anyone to complete.)
If you’ve ever said “one day I’m going to write a book”… this is your chance to have a one-month go at it. All you need is the willpower to finish and a deadline!
Yes, it’s crazy. Yes, it’s fun…. and yes, I’ll probably be writing a spooky story. =)
