This month marks the beginning of the nationwide celebration of the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 and the penning of what is now our National Anthem. Although the war began in June of 1812, celebrations began here in Louisiana this last week with Nola Navy Week. The celebration will continue through 2015, to coordinate with the ending of the War in 1815. To this end, I decided to write a few ghost stories set in Louisiana, but outside New Orleans and outside the typical well-known stories – like that of The Myrtles Plantation.
