What’s It Like Living in a Haunted House?

Edwin Gonzalez’s wife Lillian is the one who fell in love with the home.

“Since she was a little girl, she’s always wanted a Victorian,” he explained. It was Thanksgiving 2008 and Lillian’s sister sent her the Gardner, MA listing. Three days later, Edwin and Lillian went to see the home.

“The minute we walked in, we felt like we were going back in time,” Gonzalez said. “Lillian said, ‘This is mine!’ It was a dream home, really, it’s very charming. It calls you in.”

They bought the home and moved in about six months later. That’s when they started hearing rumors about the stately Victorian. Apparently, their dream home was haunted.

New Jersey couple sues, claiming rented house is haunted

A New Jersey couple is suing the landlord of their three-bedroom ranch house in Toms River, claiming it’s haunted, the Asbury Park Press reports.

Josue Chinchilla, 37, and Michele Callan, 36, fled the house in March after staying only one week and want their $2,250 security deposit back.

They claim they had to endure a series of “paranormal activity” at the house, including lights that switch on and off by themselves, clothes and towels mysteriously ejected from closets, unintelligible whispering, footsteps in the kitchen and a mysterious force tugging at bedsheets during the night.

During a lonely night...

Uncle Scotty is my boyfriend, Leo’s very eccentric great uncle.  He’s in his late eighties, is legally blind (though he can see shapes), and although he is widowed and suffers from cancer, he outright refuses to move out of his home and go to live with my boyfriend’s dad (Uncle Scotty’s nephew). There’s also the drinking and the womanizing that he was famous for in his earlier years…but as this is a paranormal blog and not a partying blog, we won’t delve into that.
